About us

Who we are

Brightening lives. Igniting potential.

Tessy Kids Foundation is a Nigerian non-governmental organisation committed to improving the lives and future prospects of vulnerable children through education, welfare, protection and community support.

Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission on 17 November 2022 and based in Abuja, we have reached more than 500 children across IDP camps in Durumi (Abuja) and Benue State, Queen Esther Orphanage Home in Kabusa, Destined Kids Orphanage, and children receiving care in hospitals.

Our work combines immediate humanitarian support with longer-term interventions that create real opportunities for children and young people.

What drives us

Our mission, vision and motto

Our mission

Access to what every child needs

To empower vulnerable children in Nigeria by providing access to quality education, essential welfare support, protection, mentorship and nurturing environments that enable them to thrive and reach their full potential.

Our vision

A Nigeria where every child can thrive

To see a Nigeria where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and develop in safety, dignity and well-being, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Our motto

Brightening lives. Igniting potential.

Every child deserves more than survival. Every child deserves the opportunity to discover their potential, and we bring hope today while building opportunities for a brighter tomorrow.

What we do

Three areas, one child at the centre

Education is essential, but children also need food, healthcare, protection, emotional support and safe environments to truly thrive. Our work is built around three connected areas.

Education

Creating opportunities for children to access quality learning, develop essential skills and prepare for a productive future.

Child welfare

Meeting children’s immediate physical, emotional and social needs so that basic needs never become barriers to learning.

Community outreach

Taking practical support directly to vulnerable children and families in underserved communities.

Our approach

Children's needs are connected

A child who is hungry may struggle to learn. A child without adequate clothing or healthcare may find it difficult to attend school. A child experiencing trauma may need emotional support before they can fully engage in education.

That is why we bring education and welfare support together, working directly within communities to identify vulnerable children and connect them with the help they need.

Accountability

Registered, certified and accountable

We are committed to transparency, accountability and responsible organisational practice. Tessy Kids Foundation is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and certified by the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML).
